What is the Ficha Tecnica?

Dont confuse the FICHA TECNICA with the “PERMISO DE CIRCULACION“.

When you bought your car you will have received some documentation. Among those papers, one was the technical inspection card, also known as the vehicle’s technical sheet, also known as “FICHA TECNICA”. It is one of the most important mandatory vehicle documents. The technical inspection card certifies that the car passes the technical approvals to drive on the roads of Spain.

IN DETAIL GARAGE might ask for this document occasionally if we need to very the VIN number to order parts.

What does the ficha tecnica look like?

Below is an example of a ficha tecnica. There will be several pages including a section containing the stamps from the ITV office saying when the vehicle last passed an insepction.

It might also include a section where it details any customisations that your car has had, for example, lowered suspension, tow bar, spoliers etc.
